PART III – THE STORY OF MARION DUST

EPISODE GUIDE – THE STORY BEHIND THE SONGS

Each song is a chapter.
Together, they reveal Aelyrea’s origin — and the truth behind the Devon blood curse.

PROLOGUE

After his battle with Aelyrea, Josh awakens in an unknown dimension: an endless sea of white mist — peaceful, yet unsettling. Ahead lies the White City, radiant beneath a deep blue sky. But Josh appears as a shadow among beings of light.
Drawn by distant crying beyond the walls, he finds a dirty, black-haired girl: Marion. She believes she belongs to “nothingness” and is forbidden to enter the city. Marion touches Josh’s temples and whispers: “Now you may dream.” Josh is pushed through a wall of fog — into another time.

1. A GIRL CALLED MARION

Josh arrives in the real world on a lonely road leading to Dust Manor. A warning sign reads: “Keep away from the Dusts!”
Inside, Marion is born. Her father has a vision from one of the Knowing Ones: a prophecy about the Fire Child, destined to bring ruin. Yet the moment he sees his daughter smile, he dismisses it. One year later, burglars are found dead in the manor — drained, as if their life was stolen. Marion sleeps peacefully. Once again, her father ignores the signs.

2. THE MARK

Nearly twelve years pass. Marion grows up in Ivybridge — beautiful and charismatic, yet increasingly unsettling. Her emotions seem to affect everyone around her. She is mocked and feared at school.
Her father turns to drugs to silence the Knowing Ones in his dreams. On the eve of Marion’s twelfth birthday, the final warning comes: a flame-shaped mark will appear — and then only a few weeks remain to do what is “necessary.” On the morning of her birthday, Marion erupts. The mark burns, her room ignites. In a terrible embrace, she drains her father’s life — and collapses into unconsciousness. Much remains hidden.

3. BLUE MIRROR

Two years later, Marion is adopted by the Devons. She suffers total amnesia, unable to remember the night of fire. She chooses to live in the unfinished attic. One night, she discovers a blue mirror. Children emerge, seize her, and pull her through. Beyond it lies a world of impossible colors, peace, and belonging. Marion feels true happiness for the first time — and returns night after night, until real life becomes unbearable.

4. ETERNAL EYE

A new presence appears in the Devon household: Professor Smith. In truth, he is one of the Knowing Ones, watching Earth from within.
Sensing Marion’s potential, he warns her and explains the mirror fragments: Green reflects emotional vulnerability, Blue stands for peace and harmony, Red carries a dangerous activating power. Only a chosen one can awaken the Eternal Eye — but using it wrongly would bring ruin.
Marion listens, but does not truly understand. The Professor hypnotizes her and shows her the origin of the Eternal Eye.

5. THE RESISTANCE

We learn of a resistance faction within the Knowing Ones. They seek a new order through the dark power of the red mirror.
Their chosen agent is Ferdinand Ludwik, known as the Red Wolf — nearly immortal, capable of time and dimensional travel.
In England, he opens an antique shop called “The Red Wulf”, waiting for the Fire Child to awaken, aided by a loyal human accomplice.

6. FIRE CHILD

Years pass. Marion longs for salvation and for the fragments to unite — to release the Eternal Light. The Professor’s warnings infuriate her.
In London, her mark suddenly burns. Voices guide her to “The Red Wulf.”
There she meets Ferdinand Ludwik. He flatters her, twists the truth, and calls her the Fire Child — the only one who can find the red fragment and wield it safely. He presents an ancient map. When Marion traces her mark across it, flaming symbols appear. The path to the red fragment is revealed.

7. PANDORA’S BOX

Marion travels with Ludwik to Castleton, into the “Dragon Cave” (Devil’s Ass). Hidden in a crystal shrine lies the red fragment, beside the Eternal Eye’s socket. The Professor arrives and begs her to stop. But Marion is already consumed by her past.
As the shrine opens, flames erupt. Marion is burned, transformed, empowered. Ignoring every warning, she places the red fragment into the wrong slot and speaks forbidden words. Chaos breaks loose. Marion Dust is gone. AELYREA is born.

8. THE CURSE

The Professor tries to save Aelyrea — but fails. In the intoxication of her new power, she creates the first Soulreaver: she kisses Ludwik’s helper, and he transforms in agony. The Professor reveals the price: Aelyrea cannot survive without feeding on the souls of the happy.
When she tastes the Professor’s blood, she learns his lineage — the Devons — and discovers the prophecy of the Warden, a future guardian who may one day banish her. The Professor manages to bind Aelyrea to another dimension — for now. But she unleashes a blood curse upon the Devon bloodline. And Ferdinand Ludwik escapes.
